Everyday you learn something new.
I still remember my kindergarten teacher insisting this statement to be true. I think I'm finally starting to believe her.
These past two days have taught me more than I than I could have ever imagined. I learned how to use special finance functions on my beloved TI-89, I've memorized the seven founding fathers of the Phi Kappa Sigma fraternity, I've been reminded of how impatient and worrisome I can get when I'm not in control, but most importantly, I've experienced a glimpse of the joy and peace that comes from placing my heart completely in the hands of God.
Being the organized person that I am, I'm often uncomfortable with uncertainty. All this time I've been looking at it the wrong way. My worries came when I fixated on the uncertainties and doubts of myself and others. But now that I'm learning to place my certainty in Christ, I can be certain and confident that He will deliver me. This certainty trumps all uncertainty. He is the powerful voice, gently whispering:
"Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth."
- Psalm 46:10
